We have quit…
Facebook.
I, Francis, Founder of Fantestimonial, have made no secret that I have not been a fan of Facebook and its practices. Either in its, almost movie villian diabolical, search for more money with no conscience, or its lack of any semblance of morality.
So as of 1 May 2026, Fantestimonial will be leaving Facebook.
This is not a decision that has come from no where, and we have been contemplating an exit from Facebook for a while now. The straw that broke the camels back is the report that Facebook is tracking its own staff to train its AI to replace the staff who is training the AI.
For a highly profitable business, the rationale of reducing staff to pay for some recent investments (metaverse flop, AI **cough cough**), it shows how little they value their human capital.
Fantestimonial that promotes business culture through Brand Culture stories and human stories, what Facebook is doing does not fit with our culture, and we cannot support it.
As such, we will remove ourselves from that platform as soon as practicable.

How to Get a “Yes” when Asking Your Clients for Video Testimonials (Almost 100% Success Rate)
Key takeaways for getting client testimonials
• Reframe testimonials as feedback requests – This removes the feeling of imposition and opens genuine dialogue
• Timing matters but isn’t everything – Strike while the iron is hot, but you can successfully ask years later with the right approach
• Use the three-step process: Recap your work together, lead up with strategic questions, then make the ask
• Make them the hero – Position the testimonial as helping other businesses, not just promoting yours
• Offer free publicity – The testimonial showcases their business as much as yours
• Be sensitive to their schedule – Convenience increases yes rates dramatically
